FIRST STEPS!

I am so excited. Lincoln has been walking around furniture and with toys since Dec 23. But today he took his first steps on his own. I was sitting on the couch and he took 5 steps from the stand to the ottoman. Then later he walked for Rob. I am going to try to catch it on video tomorrow. My little man is getting so big. He has become such a happy baby. I have the best baby now. I am starting to forget how bad the first 6 months were. He now goes to bed at 8 and sleeps till 8. All we do is lay him in his bed with his blanket and pacifier. He is out. He doesn't want to be rocked. Also, that is all we have to do for naps! He has 6 teeth and is working on his 7th. He eats whatever we eat and when I say whatever that is what I mean. Today, he had chili. He loves every food except green beans. (Just like Aunt Erin) He will eat anything and everything else. Wherever we go everyone always comments on what a happy baby. He smiles and babbles at everyone. He was reaching for a couple ladies while we were at meijers. He is a social butterfly.
I can't believe he is almost 11 months.

HARLEY DAVIDSON FAT BOY FOR SALE

Anyone know or want to buy a 2008 Harley Davidson?

Some unexpected news

Well, we got word today that Rob's place of employment is going to be closing!! Not good news. He is a union plumber/pipefitter/welder. There shop has been open for a long long time. We don't even know if he is going to get paid this week! We are scrambling around trying to figure out what we are going to do. I can go back full time but he might have to travel. I am waiting to take a full time job unitl we know where he is going to go. The big option is Edmunton, Canada. Not the ideal place. But work is work. We will know more next week. But, I dread when he calls me throughout the day because it is never good news.

Even though we are down to one car I am glad that I was able to get out of my lease.

P90X 1 week down

Finished week one of P90X. Hubby has also made it! I am so proud of him. I am really sore after doing legs. We love this workout. The variety is what I think makes it work. I only had 2 pops this week! Yoga was not as bad as I thought it was going to be. Leg day was way harder than I thought it would be. I am super sore after doing legs. Kenpo was nice but not to hard, I have to find a way to amp up that cadio day. the weight lifting days are nice but I need to buy 8 lbs weights and set up a pull up bar. That is on my hubby's to do list this weekend. I am going to dig out my heart monitor for next week. I also managed to run 1.5 miles three times this week.

In addition to P90X I am doing Hal Higdeon's couch to 5k, then his half-marathon training plan. We are running a half-marathon on June 26! (I hope)

My Fav. Wedding Memory

This picture won my photographer a couple of contest and he gave us a cope of it.

Wow, this is a tough one!! I loved my wedding day. No complaints here!!
The day started off great my dad made our family breakfast. My mom did my hair, Melinda came to my house and did my makeup. I felt like such a princess. We got to the church and did most of our pictures before. I have the fakest smile and Missy kept bringing up a guy I had a crush on in H.S. It was so funny thinking about that and how she was saying his name.

One of my favorite parts was that the photographer we had does what he calls "precious moment" It is where I walk down the isle to Rob and he takes our pictures before hand. It was just Rob and I in the church and those our some of my favorite pictures.

After the CATHOLIC WEDDING. (I won't get into that part). We rented a limo and took some outside pictures in the snow. They are beautiful!! Then we went to the Crazy Cowboy (a bar in town). It is where we met. Had some drinks took some pictures then off to the reception.

We had a big CATHOLIC wedding (350 people). But, it was a blast!! My parent were kind enough to have an open bar so I think people had a good time. I was to busy dancing. That's right I danced. (I do not like to dance very rarely do I dance) The boots with the fur song was popular and the DJ played it twice I think. I had wore after the wedding my boots from Victoria Secret which our brown and covered with fur.

This is really long. My favorite memory is that my sister was my Maid of Honor and we planned it out for her to catch the flowers. Well, what we hadn't planned on was that a 5th cousin of mine and friend of Robs caught the garter. We did the put the garter on her well he gave her a lap dance. It was the funniest thing I have ever seen. He is about 50lbs overweight and is one of the funniest people I know. I fell on the ground laughing. I will never ever forget that.

How Rob DTD

I had been hinting for a month or two that I wanted to get married. I knew that he was the one about 6 months into dating. I loved so many things about him. Most of all I loved how he stuck around. We met the night before thanksgiving and 4 weeks later my dad was diagnosised with glioblastoma (brain cancer). I had given him the choice to stick around and tough it out or he could leave and I would have no hard feelings.
APRIL 1
We went on a cruise with my family and another family for my brothers SB. The very first night there after dinner I suggested we go up and watch the sun set. He has never been on a big vacation or to the ocean. After we got up there he starting talking about how much he loved me and how we should think about getting married. I was waiting for the April Fools that follows. But, instead he got down on one knee and proposed. I was shocked.

I ran down to tell my parents and they already knew. He asked my parents back in Feb. if he could marry me. That is so sweet!!! So my mom and dad had known for 2 months prior. And to top it off my mom had packed the ring in her carry on. (I might have snooped through his luggage before we left). Now, that I look back there are so many hints that I might have caught. I still can't believe my mom and dad knew for so long.

Oh I forgot to say that later that week a kid came up to us while he was with his parents and said to his mom "That's the guy that I taped." The little boy had filmed the whole proposal. They promised to send us a copy but we never got one. I really wish that we had. The one bad thing is I had no clue where on the ocean we were and I can't go back to that spot. But, it was beautiful.

P90x Day 1

I promise not to blog everyday about P90X. But, today was my first day. Rob and I did shoulders and back. The pushups where a killer. He like it alot and I think he might stick with it. Me I am hooked!! There is no cardio today so I am off to kickboxing. I am so impressed with my husband. He even took pictures and measurements. He is going to do great. He doesn't need to lose any weight he just wants to tone up. I will post weekly on our status.

In other excited news. I think (think being the key word) there is 4 of us who are going to run the half marathon in Charlevoix, Michigan. It is June 26. Anyone is welcome to join. I downloaded Hal Higdeons training program. I think that we can fit in both the 5k and half training schedule before the race.
More to come!!!

Slacking off

The last week I have so slacked off. I only made it to the gym twice and did not eat very well. Tomorrow begins a new week and a new plan!! I am excited to say that I am going to try PX90. I am a little nervous that I won't stick with it but I am going to give it a good effort. I plan of doing it when lincoln takes his afternoon nap. I have redid our family room and now there is room for me to work out. If anyone has tried this let me know. I also plan on getting in 3-4 hours of cardio a week. I really need to lose 10 lbs. I am going to try this for the next month and if I don't see any progress I am going to join WW.

Groundhogs Day

2 years of wedded bliss. I can't believe it has already been 2 years. Time flies. At this moment 2 years ago I was getting ready to walk down the aisle. I loved my wedding and reception. We had such a good time. Granted the wedding was a little long but you gotta love those catholic weddings. We were supose to spend our 1 year anniversary in hawaii but Lincoln changed those plans. I posted a picture of what my growing belly looked this a year ago! Then this year I wanted to go skiing but Rob didn't really want to. So instead we are going out to dinner. No Lincoln. We don't go out very often so I am super excited. I am trying to figure out what to wear and I am actually going to do my hair and makeup. My plan is to look pretty before my husband gets home. Also, on my to do list is to make him a card. Kind of cheesy but I enjoy making cards for him. We are going to try not to talk about Lincoln at dinner. Have a conversation about us and grown up topics. I will try to take some pictures tonight.

Before and After Pics, and then some others!!

Here are my 30 day post shred....

Passing on

There is nothing in life that makes me sadder than someone passing before their time. With that said a friend of the family has passed away. She fought a very couragious battle with pancreatic cancer. She fought it for 4 years. She has 3 kids all around my age but still to young to lose their mom.

When someone passes away it makes me reflect on my life and others around me. For those that don't know my dad has glioblastoma (brain cancer). He was diagnosised 5 years ago. The year survival rate is 5% so he has beat all kinds of odds. But, he was diagnosised one year before the woman above. Being in the profession I am I know to love every moment we have been given. My dad is doing great. And I tend to forget about his illness. But, that doesn't mean it won't come back.

Some people get the chance to say goodbye to their loved ones while most do not. Does saying Goodbye make death easier? That is one question I ponder. We are all going to die that is evident but what happens when we know death is near.

Dealing with a death makes me reflect on my own life. Am I living everyday to the fullest? do I say I love you enough? Will I be remembered as a good person? What would happen to my baby? These are questions I ponder.
