Job Loss

Well just when life was getting back to normal and we thought a merger was going to happen BAMM...Just like that we got the phone call we had been dreading. Rob's work is closing its doors. No merger no nothing:( Today, he went to work and thought they would finish up the week instead they are packing up there tools.

My Hubby (Rob) has five months to go in his apprentiship he is a Union plumber, pipefitter, welder. 5 months!!! He will be able to finish it while he is layed off but it sucks. He will still go to school on wed to finsih it up. That's the good news.

Now, the bad news. Where do I begin.

1 Ok, there is no work anywhere in the U.S. He thought he could go to Canada but that is at least 3 months away because they jsut took a bunch of workers. SO, he can draw unemployement and I get to work. We will make that work.

2. I am not guarenteed hours up at the hospital because I am per diem. That means I don't have benifits and I make more money. But, I am the first to be staffed (to go home). If there are no patients there are no hours.

3. Rob's employeer has not paid into their vacation or benifit fund since october. Yes, I said October. We should have benifits though the end of the year but we only have them until June. Also, he is owed around 1300 dollars for his vacation fund. They will get the money sometime....

Now, my question is do I go back to work full time and take a pay cut but have hours and benefits. But, then what happens when he travels with Mr. Lincoln? I really don't know what to do.

To top it all off I am sick! I have the virus that is going around.

Work

Just wanted to share this morning I sometimes hate going to work. When everyone is in bed sleeping and all warm I do not want to get up. I really hate going on the weekend and holidays!!!

Also, I hate when March comes in like a lamb. When it is 60 degrees in Michigan for a week you know you are in trouble. Snow is a coming! My flowers are blooming and it was nice playing with Lincoln outside and going for walks. Today, we are supose to get snow. I think I need an actually vacation.

I am done complaining and ranting. Hope everyone has a great day.

First Pair of Shoes

Lincoln, Rob and I enjoyed the nice day yesterday and today. I bought Lincoln his first pair of shoes and we went out exploring! He hates touching the grass. When he falls down he makes faces while trying to pull himself up without touching the grass.

I'm not 21 anymore!

This weekend Hubby and I had such a wonderful time up north. It was our first trip without little lincoln. He had a hockey tourny so we packed our bags and left Lincoln with his mom. Friday night we started drinking at 9:00 and didn't stop until 3:30. I danced and LMAO all night long. It was 5 guys and me. You can imagine what the local girls had to say about that. Oh well. I can't remember the last time I laughed so hard. It was one of those nights where thoughout saturday I keep remember ibts and pieces. Needless to say I did not feel the best sat. But, I was a champ and started drinking again. I got my second wind at about 11:30 and was up unitl 3:30 again. Stupid time change! I thought it was going to be a nice relaxing weekend involing lots of sleep and "adult time" but it ended up being little adult time and lots of drinking and laughing. Hockey guys are the best. They are all so relaxed and outgoing and don't care about what others think. I am very blessed that Rob has such good friends. They all treat me with respect and almost like a little sister. They picked on me I picked back. I don't act like a nagging wife and I let my husband do his own thing and I do mine. All in all it was a great weekend! The best part is we got to pick Lincoln up on sunday and go back to our normal life! In another 6 months we might just go out to the bar again. I love my life.

P90X Week 5

I can't believe that I haven't posted on P90X at all lately. Week 4 came and went and I miss it so much. Now, I am back to the 3 days of lifting and plyos, yoga and kenpo. I hate plyos. I love the weight lifting days. Big surpise! I think I love Tony Horton. (the guy that created the video) I weighted in and did measurements last week and I am down 3 lbs and the measurements are close to the same. My jeans fit so much better. The muffin top is gone! I still have a long way to go. My dieis a lot better also. I have been drinking protien drinks for breakfast and really wathcing what I eat during the day. Lent has helped because I gave up all sweets! Now, I have to stop drinking pop.

FIRST STEPS!

I am so excited. Lincoln has been walking around furniture and with toys since Dec 23. But today he took his first steps on his own. I was sitting on the couch and he took 5 steps from the stand to the ottoman. Then later he walked for Rob. I am going to try to catch it on video tomorrow. My little man is getting so big. He has become such a happy baby. I have the best baby now. I am starting to forget how bad the first 6 months were. He now goes to bed at 8 and sleeps till 8. All we do is lay him in his bed with his blanket and pacifier. He is out. He doesn't want to be rocked. Also, that is all we have to do for naps! He has 6 teeth and is working on his 7th. He eats whatever we eat and when I say whatever that is what I mean. Today, he had chili. He loves every food except green beans. (Just like Aunt Erin) He will eat anything and everything else. Wherever we go everyone always comments on what a happy baby. He smiles and babbles at everyone. He was reaching for a couple ladies while we were at meijers. He is a social butterfly.
I can't believe he is almost 11 months.
