Unexpected visit to the Hospital

For about a week I had been having problems breathing.  I just thought it was my asthma flaring up. I went on all my allergy meds and asthma meds even a steriod.  Saturday night I was up all night and could not breath. I couldn't lie flat and was a little scared. I called the Dr. Albertson and he said he was thinking about me that morning and thinks I have a blood clot. I needed to go to ER and be checked out. I wasn't really that worried. I had not signs of having a blood clot.  It was a typical ER visit. Lots of tests and waiting. When I went for my ultrasound the first leg checked out ok but, halfway though the second leg she found a blood clot. A little further down she found another one. I was SHOCKED, to say the least. I started crying. I had been walking around with a pulmonary embolism in my lung for I don't know how long.  When a blood clot travels it can go to your lung, brain, or heart. The "lung" is the best place that it can go to.
After they found that I knew I had bought myself a stay at the hospital. I finally got up to my room that afternoon and only one dr. came and saw me. Dr. Albertson came up and got things rolling. My blood thinners got started and he made me feel a little better. He also made me cry.  He said he was thinking of me this morning and that it was divine intervention. That I didn't need to thank he but God. I just love him. He truely saved my life.
I had to stay in the hospital until tuesday afternoon. It was so nice to come home. I am feeling a little better everyday.  I have to be on blood thinner shots until 6 weeks after the baby is born. I am now a high risk pregnancy and can't go more than 30 minutes away from home.  I don't know how long I am off work. I am hoping to go back in June.  It has also changed my birthing plans. I can't get an epidural due to the blood thinners. Even if I have to be induced I am having a natural childbirth (please help me).
On a positive note the baby looks good. I had another ultrasound and it was a relief to see that baby doing well. The ladies I work with are amazing. I could not ask for better co-workers.  They have been so supportive and understanding.
To add to all this Rob got laid off on friday. It is nice that he is able to be home right know with Lincoln and I but he is going to have to leave for work next week or the following.  I know he is a little scared about leaving me but I have a very supportive family.
Blood clots can occur in 1% of all pregnancy's.

Hey lady, you are definatley in my thoughts. What blood thinner are you on? My SIL over at http://pugzandkisses.blogspot.com/
is pregnant with her second and had to be on shots for her entire first pregnancy and is currently 24 weeks with her second and having to do it again. Glad to hear that the wee one is ok and that although it is scary everything should be ok!
