8 months old

Lincoln has done so much this month. He is crawling, standing, talking. He started crawling right after thanksgiving. He started standing Dec. 23. He now stands on everything. He loves to open and shut doors. He has shut his fingers in the door a couple of times. He can say bye bye, hi there, da da, ba ba, they aren't perfect but I know what he means. When I am talking on the phone and say bye he also says bye bye it is so cute. He is also eating "people food." Which means he is eating meals with us. It is nice not buying baby food but is takes so long to feed him now. He also does not want his bottle. He drinks it like he is drinking his sipping cup. So I am going to start transitioning him to a cup. Again, it is much easier to give him a bottle.
Life has been busy here. I still can't believe how much your life changes after having a baby. I tried going to the crossing to return some items and shop. Well, I only was able to get half of it done before he had a melt down. But, I do love how he follows me around the house and "helps" me clean.
I need to make time for myself. I am sure every mom says this. I just feel guilty. ROb is still playing hockey. We are planning a ski trip for our annivesary. I think we are just going to go up north. I am not ready to leave Lincoln for too long yet. Maybe next year we will go somewhere warm!!

New Years Resolution.

1. To be thankful for the things I have.
2. To find something I like about myself everday. I am so hard on myself.
3. To lose weight. I know it is on everyones list but I have never made that goal. I really need to lose 10 lbs. Having a baby did not help my goal 2 and 3.
Anyone have any good ideas on how to lose weight. I know I need to eat well and go to the gym. Going to the gym has gotten really hard. I just want to hang out with Rob and Lincoln at night.
4. To find other moms to get together with. I need to start being more social. I have time but I don't want to bother other people.

Christmas

Lincoln got way to many toys!!!! We had a great Christmas. Too many pictures to post. We spilt up Christmas and did Robs side on the 24th and mine on christmas day. It was so nice to do it that way. We even snuck in a nap on both days. Christmas with kids is totally awesome. Even though Lincoln didn't understand the concept yet it gave me a sneek peek at what is to come.

Busy Boy

Lincoln is into everything!!!! He is a crawling machine. He can stand using objects. He loves electical outlets and cords. He is so much fun. Yesterday he was talking with my mom on the phone and he was trying to kiss the phone. When he talks to my sister he talks back it is so cute. He also figured out today that if he takes his toys to the wood floor he can bang them and make loud noises. I love watching him learn. He loves to touch the Christmas tree. He rubs the branches. I am waiting for him to discover my manger scene. Our tree looks a little funny because the bottom 3 branches are not decorated.
In other news I have been working a lot. Well 20-30 hours a week. That's the most I have worked since Lincoln has been born. I am also car shopping. My lease is up in January. Rob is still playing hockey. I really think that he enjoys Lincoln more and more. The first 6 months are so hard for guys. There isn't that much for them to do. I could not imagine being a single mom. I am so thankful for all of Robs help. It is so nice when he gets home from work.

First night away

This past weekend Rob and I went to my cousins wedding in Indiana. We left Lincoln with his mom....It was so nice to get away with just him. I only missed Lincoln a little. Rob was so cute and he called to check on Lincoln that night. He is such a good dad. My cousin Chris Wise is whose wedding we attended. It was the most emotionally wedding I have ever been to. They were supose to get married in Sept. but the wedding had to be delayed. In July Chris had to have open heart surgery. They found an 9cm TAA. He was shipped to UofM and had emergency surgery. While all this was going on Cara had to drive up from Indiana. I cannot imagine being in her shoes. She is a strong amazing women. So needless to say there wedding was awesome. I haven't seen two people more in love and more deserving of a beautiful day.
I was so happpy to have this night away with Rob. It was nice to have adult conversation with Rob and others.

Thanksgiving

There are so many things that I am thankful for this year.
-My wonderful family. I have been blessed with the most amazing parents, sister, brother, husband and son.
-Another year with my dad. We had some scares this year with him having a seizure and they thought the cancer was back. But, so far so good. I can't believe that it has been 4 years since this journey began.
-For my son. It is still odd to have those words come out of my mouth. We have had a trying year with him. It seems like we take one step forward and two steps back.
-For both of us having jobs. I was very blessed to have taken almost 7 months off this year. I was able to spend that time bonding with Lincoln.
-Good friends. Without them I would be lost.
These are just a few of the things that I am thankful for.

Black Friday

I got a new computer!!!! I am so excited. I will become a better blogger now. My sister, brother and I waited in line all night at best buy. We sat in a ice shanty with a propane heater. We were toaster warm. There were people driving by all night laughing at us but those people were headed to Toys R us. Little did they know that there line went around Kohls towards old county buffet. So we were laughing at them. I had such a great time. It is always nice to spend time with my family. I bought so much stuff from best buy. I love my laptop and I love our new blue ray DVD player. I have some of Robs christmas shopping done and Lincoln is all done. We did not buy him very much this year. Over the next couple of days I am going to go back though and update things I have missed.

Crawling

Rob and I were decorating our Christmas tree and we looked down and Lincoln was on the move. He was going after the Meijer ad. He has been trying to crawl for about 2 weeks. He does one leg then the next then falls on his belly. But, he dows it supper fast. It is cute to watch. It was also nice that Rob was able to see him do that. I think I have my house babyproofed I guess we will see what things he gets into. He is also trying to stand. Lincoln goes over to the otoman and reaches up. He can push himself up using some of his toys and on all fours he is pushing hes butt way up in the air. We are in big trouble. He will be every where and in everything. Rob and I got our Christmas tree up. It looks a little strange not having the bottom decorated!! I also put out my Nativity scene. We will see how long that stays out for. It is a willow one so I might end up putting it up:(

Bad Blogger

I am a very bad blogger. I think it is because my camera is so old that I do not have a cord to plug into the computer. It is such a nice camera I don't want to buy a new one. I am giong to try this week to upload so pictures. Lincoln is getting so big so fast. He is on the move. He is slithering around and hopping like a bunny. He tries to crawl but instead hops. I left him in the living room for 2 minutes and he moved over 5 feet. He was in the TV stand with the wii remotes. He was so proud of himself.

Halloween

For Halloween Lincoln was a monster. I picked up his costume from the resale shop for 2 dollars. He hates to have things on his head so I didn't want to spend a bunch of money on anything. We went to Nana's and Papa's(my mom and dad) then to his Grandma and Grandpas (robs parents). Then we went Trick or Treating with Kevin Melind and there kids. We drank some beer and had a good time.

Quitting Job

I am quiting northwest. It is not worth the stress. I have never had problems with a co-worker but it has been a very hard year. I have done lots of praying over the matter. I still am not 100% comfortable with my decision. It is such an easy job and I make good money. The cons are the liablity. I would hate to lose my license over something at the school. I really hope that I have made the right decision. Only time will tell.

I will be going back to work at the hospital picking up at JOSC and on the unit. I miss my co-workers. I am excited to see everyone. I am not looking forward to nights. Lincoln sleeps sometimes at night so I am not missing much.

6 months

Wheatland 5 months








I have been a bad blogger. My camera won't let me upload pictures. Lincoln is sleeping though the night. He has made it 5 nights in a row!!! He can sit up by himself for almost an hour. I just bought him silly town and he loves to play with it. I am enjoying going to work but it is because I know he is safe. I love having my mom watch him.

Quick update

Lincoln is creeping all over the place. He went backwards across my living room yesterday. He has two teeth.
I quit breastfeeding and we started formula over the weekend. We have a totally different baby. He is sleeping at night, taking 2-3 naps during the day, you can sit down and hold him I don't have to walk him anymore. I am so happy. It is so nice to sit and rock my baby. He is also spitting up a lot less. I love being a mom. I am still breastfeeding him in the morning (I hate being engored).
-We went camping a couple weekends ago. We had a great time. The weather was great.
-I had my first haircut by someone other than my mom. It was scary and exciting all at once.
-Rob is trying to sell his Harley. He got into hunting camp up north and he can't have 3 expensive hobbies. So that is the one he is choosing to give up.(haha)
-I am back to work. I only work 3 days a week.

I think that is about it. I am going to try to update more often. Life has been so busy.

My Birthday

Today was my big day. I am now 27, which is scary. I can't believe it. I had a great day. Lincoln and I hung out while Rob was at work. When he got home we went to Los tres amigos for dinner. It was good and quick. When you have your little one in tow all I want to do is eat and get out. We sat out on the patio and Lincoln was an angel. I had cake and ice cream at my mom and dad's. My sister taught me how to use facebook. That was my day.
